RESERVATIONS: A minimum of 5 nights is required during spring and summer seasons, except in the NORTH and SOUTH Cabins (3 night min. in season). If you require a shorter stay, please call for availability. We do not have a certain day check in, you can start any day of the week, so sometimes a few days here and there are available. If available, reservations that are less than 5 nights, may have an additional $50 cleaning fee added including North and South. (Hoildays - Summer Rates apply)
DEPOSIT: We require 30% deposit for rentals within 10 days of making the reservation. The deposit will be deducted from the amount due and the remaining balance will be due prior to arrival. Personal checks are fine and can be mailed to P.O Box 526 Port St. Joe, Fl. 32457. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. For reservations made less than 30 days from arrival date, you will be required to pay in full at the time the reservation is made. All reservations during off seasons for less than a week will be required to be paid in full at the time the reservation is made.
NOTE:( All deposits and advanced payments will be placed in an interest bearing account to the benefit of Old Saltworks Cabins.)
AMOUNT DUE: A 11% Florida Sales Tax (7% Sales tax and 4% Bed Tax) and a $40-$60 reservation fee will be added to your rental rate. Final payment is due prior to arrival. Personal checks, money order, traveler's checks, Visa, MasterCard,Discover, and American Express are accepted. Reservations made less than 30 days prior to arrival will be asked to pay in full at the time the reservations are made.CHECK IN: Check in is 2PM EST or after. We are usually out and about cleaning/working etc,. so there is a phone in the office and a number to call if you need anything. We will come immediately or call you back on the office phone. If we are going to be away, we will leave your key in the Cabin door on check in day and a map in the Pickup box on the front porch if you should need it. If we are not there and also after hours, the phone is forwarded to our cell phones at all time......
If you are paid in full, you may go straight to the cabin or house on check in day. We will leave a key in the cabin/house door for you.
Please note, that on Sunday check in the time may be 4PM. (to allow some extra time to be ready after church). You may call us after 1 PM and if it is ready you may check in early at regular 2PM time.
LATE ARRIVALS: If you are going to be late, (after 5 PM EST), please let us know and we will leave a key and a map in our key box on the porch of our office, and you can just check in with us the next day. Please call our office to let us know of late arrivals so we can leave the lights on for you.
CANCELLATIONS: If you should have to cancel your reservations, please send a written notice at least 30 days before your scheduled arrival. If you cancel 30 days in advance a full refund will be issued (minus a $75 cancellation fee and the $25 reservation fee-$100 Total). For cancellations less than 30 days, you will receive a refund for only the time the unit is re-rented if any. (minus a $60 cancellation fee and the $25 reservation fee). Please send written documentation for all cancellations to P.O Box 526 Port St. Joe, Fl. 32457 or e-mail via receipt request to email@example.com. In the event of a cancellation please allow two weeks to process the refund. All refunds must be given in the same way they were received and the same credit card that was given to reserve your unit must be the card the refund is issued.
REFUNDS: We make every effort to keep each property and its equipment in good working order. In the event of a problem, we will strive to make repairs as soon as possible. No refunds are due for TV's, washer/dryers, etc. We just promise to get them repaired or replaced as soon as possible. No refunds are given for early departures or leaving due to inclement weather or condition beyond our control. (In the event of a mandatory evacuation order, you will only be charged for the nights you occupied the unit. If you choose to leave in a 'Voluntary Evacuation' no refund will be given. If you cancel prior to arrival date, no refund will be given.)
SUBSTITUTIONS: We reserve the right to substitute comparable accommodations without notice or liability should a property become unavailable. We will make every effort to contact you if time allow. If no comparables are available, you will have the option of selecting from available properties at the published rate or receiving a complete refund of the reservation deposit.
LINENS: For your convenience we provide linens. This includes sheets and an initial supply of bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, kitchen towels, toilet paper and soap. Some units are equipped with washer and dryer.
PETS: A $50 non-refundable pet fee is required for weekly rentals. We have the right to refuse any pet that we do not feel "fits" in Saltworks. You are responsible for any damage caused by your pet. If your pet should have an "accident", there are cleaning products in the cabins to help out. Please clean any "pet debris" from walkways and driveways. You will be fully responsible for any and all damages that result from your pet during your stay. This is one of the few places that still allow dogs on the beach, so let us all work together to allow this to continue.
HOUSEKEEPING: Your cabin/house will be cleaned before your arrival. If you are not satisfied, please let us know immediately. For all late arrivals, call by 10:00 A.M the following morning. If you have not called by this time, we will assume that you found your home in an acceptable condition and will assume everything was to your satisfaction.
1) For your safety each property has a maximum occupancy. Having more people than allowed will be in violation and you will be asked to leave with no refund.
2) No reservations will be made to students or singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Any reservations made under false pretenses will be subject to forfeiture of any payments and violators will be asked to leave.
3) All our cabins are 'non-smoking' inside. They all have nice screened porches with ashtrays to relax and enjoy if you desire. (Please be mindful of where you place your butts!)
1) We are known as a get-a-way. If you are in a cabin or house that has TV/Radios, please keep it down. No loud parties.
2) If you are going to have guest over for a visit, please let us know. We don't mind, we just try to keep track of who's who for everyone's privacy. (We sometimes will have "un-invited" guest trying to get to the bay, especially during scallop season.) We do have limited parking at the cabins and unique bay access, so we have the right to limit guest in Saltworks and ask your guest to park at the office.
3) If you and your friends/family have rented several cabins, please try to return dishes, chairs, etc. back to the proper cabins. It's hard for us to figure it out sometimes.
BEFORE CHECKING OUT: Due to our limited staff, (usually the two of us), we asked that you please leave the cabin/house in the same general condition as it was found.
CHECK OUT: Check out is 11 AM EST. Please be prompt so we can start getting ready for our next guest. Please bring key back to the office and leave it in the key drop mail box on the porch if we are not arround. (It lets us know when it's time to get to work!)

If your cabin does not have any items you need especially in the kitchen check with us first, chances are we may have it on hand here at Saltworks, Sometimes dishes, utensils, etc. are missing or taken to another cabin when friends get together. Just let us know and we should be able to round it up for you.
We are usually always around Saltworks, cleaning, cutting grass, etc.... However, we are not always 'visible'. We try to give our guest space and not intrude on their vacation. We do not have "office hours" so feel free to call us from the office anytime you need anything. It is always forwarded to one of our cell phones. We are happy to meet you and answer any questions you may have so don't hesitate to give us a call.
